The Seattle Overlook Walk was an initiative by the Office of the Waterfront and Civic Projects to create an elevated public park connecting the waterfront to Seattle’s urban core. The project highlights Seattle’s strong environmental values and provides a space for programming and recreation.

As part of the Waterfront Seattle initiative, the Union Street bridge now connects Western Avenue and Alaskan Way strengthening connections between downtown and the waterfront.

Scope of Work

Scott System constructed EPS foam formwork creating unique arches on the underside of the bridge providing a more accessible connection from downtown Seattle to the waterfront.

Additionally, artist Norie Sato designed integrated and free-standing artwork drawing inspiration from the natural environment.
