Stone Snap™with Anti-Graffiti Finish Provides Design Freedom

Every year, Americans spend more than $8 billion cleaning up graffiti. With the development of Scott's Snap System and Crossville's engineered porcelain stone with a cross-sheen finish, they now have the ability to get rid of the grime and maintain the aesthetic beauty of cities and surroundings for years to come.

Crossville, the creator of engineered porcelain stone that fit into Scott's Snap System, features a cross-sheen finish that imparts a subtle glow on tiles. This enhances the color of the tile and eases the removal of stains, scuff marks and graffiti from the surface. Attesting to its durability, the finish is permanently fused to the body of the tile during a 2,000 degree F firing process, perpetually sealing its surface. As a result, Cross-sheen in common brick sizes and textures is appropriate for both interior and exterior walls, including those in high-traffic areas, schools and areas where low-level maintenance is desired.

Removing marker, graffiti or water-based agents requires little more than what's under your kitchen sink. According to Crossville technical data, household cleaning solutions such as Windex, Mr. Clean, Comet and the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser remove spray paint and permanent marker from the surface of the cross-sheen porcelain stone.

Scott System Launches RIM SNAP™ for Poured-in-Place Concrete

Rim Snaps™
are the newest offering from Scott System Inc. for integrally casting thin brick into concrete walls.  An evolved and improved version of Scott’s Brick Snap®, Rim Snap™ is specifically designed for VERTICAL, poured-in-place concrete walls.  This is a first for embedded brick inlay systems as the existing methods are for precast or tilt-up concrete applications only.

Rim Snaps™
are perfect for small or large-scale barrier walls and for residential construction of basements or foundation walls.  For walls, the product can be added to both sides of a vertical form and a two-sided brick finish can be achieved in a single concrete pour.  The advantages of using this system over traditional field-laid brick are numerous including reduced construction time and simplified engineering details along with the elimination of weep cavities necessary for conventional brick.  The Rim Snap™ is an individual template that snaps together in various coursing patterns.  Once connected, the assembly is attached to a form and then thin brick is inserted into each holder.  The brick is held snug with a flexible gasket “rim”.  The forms are placed, and concrete is poured encapsulating the brick in the process.  When the forms are removed, the brick is firmly and permanently in place.
